Model: 2012 L322 hello. hHrllo…I know this is a late answer but my fob stopped working and had to open my 2015 Range Rover HSE manually with the key. It set off alarm and the only way I could start it was by holding the fob next to the steering column. A locksmith wanted to charge $450 to possibly reprogram it or clone it.
Hi thanks for the reply , I rang a local land rover specialist who quoted me £258 inc vat lol but they would programme it which I didn't want I've ordered a repair kit with battery to hopefully fix mine but really wanted a good second key for the wife , does anyone know how much a genuine spare is , I tried my local main dealer today and kept getting cut off , I'll try them again tomorrow ,
1 Answer. Yes it has a battery, two possibilities a rechargeable one, or a 2032. if you have the full black plastic cased fob it is a rechargeable battery. The car should then recognise the fob and update the code and start the car. The manual with the car details this procedure as well. Both key fobs use a rolling encoding frequency, sometimes if the spare is not used often enough, the code gets too far removed so that the car doesn't recognise the fob. The above has worked for me every time.
