How to Fix Steam Games Crashing on Startup TutorialThis issue could be due to a corrupted or antiquated graphics card driver. Updating the graphics card driv I tried updating to the latest drivers and adding "/nolightfx" to the startup option but nothing helps. Any idea how I can fix this? Yup, same here. Win7 pro + i7-2600k + 780Ti and 500GB SSD raid 0. All other games (new and old alike) work flawlessly. Trying to run Dying Light only results in a black screen and the game frozen. Here is how to do it: 1) Exit Steam. 2) Right-click the Steam icon on your desktop and select Properties. 3) Click the Compatibility tab and check the box next to Run this program as an administrator. Then, click OK. 4) Relaunch Steam and Terraria to test your issue. You can hopefully run the game without crashing now.

Fun fact: The native port of Dying Light has huge rendering issues on 495, making it impossible to play. Downgrading to 470 fixes that, but has no effect on the proton version. Use Steam beta and non-beta. Use Steam Runtime. Use Steam Native (I usually use this one). Use wined3d instead of vulkan.
